I’ve played and written music across numerous genres and in many different settings, from modern jazz in a quintet to Celtic and traditional Irish fiddle for contra dances. I’ve fiddled in a bluegrass band and in symphony orchestras, played in the pit for musicals, sung in several choirs and directed college a cappella, covered just about every instrument in the worship band, and released a few albums of original instrumental compositions.

In recent years, i played piano and wrote tunes for a jazz quintet, Nebula. Some recordings we made:

Nebula: The More Things Change Nebula: Return to Pink House (Live) Nebula: Live at Villa St

We played several live shows, but there aren’t that many videos out there. The ones we do have are below.

One of my compositions, Alone in the Cathedral, taken during a rehearsal in 2016 or 2017:

A composition called Transparence, by our saxophonist Ryan Proch, from a 2017 show at Cafe Pink House in Saratoga, CA:

Cell phone footage of an entire live show from October 2018, again at Cafe Pink House, can be seen here (couldn’t be embedded, sorry).

I also played piano, fiddle, and cajon for a contra dance band, Pepperjack. We made an album in 2021:

Pepperjack

There is also some video evidence of us playing at Valley of the Moon fiddle camp in 2018:

and at the Silicon Valley Irish Fleadh the same year:

Way back in 2012, i wrote, recorded, and produced an album of my own compositions:

Songs Without Words

I studied composition under Tom Flaherty at Pomona College, where i wrote pieces for chamber groups and orchestra, including:

I’m on SoundCloud, BandCamp, and YouTube, though i don’t post much.
